Swann Memorial Fountain
The Swann Memorial Fountain restoration is an excellent example of J.S. Cornell’s
meticulous attention to details. This restoration project required the removal
and temporary relocation of the historic fountain and sculptures to allow for
excavation and construction of an underground vault and tunnel system to house
the new ‘state of the art’ mechanical and electrical systems. At
the completion of the sub-structure we undertook the resetting of the fountain
itself, which had to be reconstructed to the exact dimensions and details as
originally designed by Alexander Calder in 1923. J.S. Cornell is proud to have
been a part of the restoration of this historic landmark.
