Grandstand for the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair
At Devon, the complex task of removing the timber framed Grandstand structure
and recreating a totally new structure of steel and timber was no stretch for
J.S. Cornell and their project team. The demolition of the existing structure
and construction of the new 1400 seat grandstand was completed in less than
seven months. Reconstruction involved platforms, skyboxes, toilet facilities,
offices, and a refreshment bar all covered with preservative treated lumber
and siding to mimic the appearance of the original structure built in 1910,
also by J.S. Cornell & Sons, Inc.
